It is in the shelter of each other that people live- Irish proverb
*Groups form on a rolling basis per community interest*
People often wonder how group therapy can help them. I have found that groups connect people to each other in a very profound way.
Throughout my career my work has included working with groups, whether in the classroom with college students, or with attendees at senior centers. I have seen how when people are provided a safe and supportive environment to talk, connect and be understood, deep changes take place.
Groups help us find our “voice” through learning to relate to others and take risks with safety. Groups are never “perfect,” like all relationships they take time, patience and a willingness to trust the process. A mental health professional is trained to provide both the relational links and cohesiveness a group needs to grow.
