Trauma & Dissociation Therapy in Beacon, NY.
Therapy that supports you.
Find peace & strength through healing.
It can be hard to explain what you’re going through to friends and family.
Even when everything seems fine, you still feel that underlying fear.
You’re exhausted from constantly being in survival mode, and some days blur together, leaving you feeling numb and disconnected. Deep down, you wish you could forget what happened, but it feels impossible. We’ll work to piece things together so you can make sense of your experiences and understand your life differently.
I’m here to support you in exploring your inner world at your own pace and in your own way.
You might think in terms of parts, a system, emotions, inner voices, roles you’ve taken on, or simply different ways you respond to life. You don’t need to experience yourself in any particular way to belong here.
Every part, experience, or way of being matters and deserves respect.
Our work supports growth by building safety, understanding, and care within the inner world you already have.
You are the expert on your life and your inner experience. You decide what language we use, what healing looks like for you, and how we move forward.
We will always move at your pace. Trust, consent, and safety guide everything we do. There is no “right” way to do this work.
Healing is possible for everyone. When trauma and dissociation are met with understanding and respect, without pressure to fit a specific model, it becomes possible to build a life that feels steadier, more connected, and supportive of all of you.
Some things I can help you with
Flashbacks & Triggers
Learn to manage and reduce the overwhelm of distressing memories so they no longer dictate your emotions or daily life. Together, we can also develop resources to strengthen resilience and restore a sense of balance.
Understanding Your Inner World
Explore the richness of your inner experience at a pace that feels right. I’ll honor the language that feels most true, whether that’s parts, alters, headmates, or something else entirely. Together, we’ll create space for mutual respect and collaboration within the system, supporting a greater sense of inner connection, clarity, and care.
Trauma Memories
We can explore traumatic experiences gently, using talk therapy, internal collaboration, somatic techniques, DBR (Deep Brain Reorienting), and expressive arts—choosing what feels right for you. These approaches offer space for healing and support you in navigating and releasing the emotional and physical effects of trauma at your own pace.
Self-Harming Behaviors & Suicidal Thoughts
Feel less alone and more understood as you share your emotional pain in a caring and supportive environment. We can explore new coping strategies, build a sense of safety, and help ease the intensity.
Hey there, I'm Karen (she/her).
I’m so glad you’re here.
Finding a therapist who really gets trauma and dissociation can feel overwhelming, and it takes a lot of courage to take that first step toward getting help. I want you to know that I appreciate the effort you're putting into finding the right support for yourself. Healing is a personal journey, and having someone by your side who understands that can make a big difference. You're not alone in this, and it's okay to take things at your own pace.
Healing from trauma is not just about talking; it’s about feeling safe, heard, and understood.
I believe that the foundation of this healing lies in the relationship we build together. Our work will focus on creating a space where you can gradually develop trust and a sense of security. Whether you’ve been holding onto something for years or just starting to uncover difficult experiences, I’m here to support you.
“My goal is to walk alongside you, offering support, understanding, and guidance every step of the way. Together, we can create a path forward that honors your experiences and helps you move toward the healing you deserve.”
